Trying again...

Today Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. What an awesome awesome day. I can't say anything about it that so many other people haven't already said, and much more eloquently, but I couldn't let it pass without comment.

So, I keep thinking of things that would be cute to blog about, but then I post them on Facebook instead. And the only people (person? Hi Barb!) who read this see everything there! But I'll try to keep this updated too, as it's a better archive to print out at some point for the girls!

Some funny things the girls have said and done recently:

Allison looooved Aretha Franklin's hat at today's Inauguration. She thought it was very beautiful, so I am making her one of her very own. I'll post pictures when it's done!

Allison also thought, while watching American Idol with me, that Paula Abdul was very beautiful. Might need to talk to this kid about her affinity for flamboyance.

Lizzie has started climbing. All of a sudden, today, she decided she must reach the highest point in any room, and nothing is going to stop her. So, now our kitchen chairs are on the porch because they are mere pawns in her must-dance-on-kitchen-countertop game.

I am sure there's more, and I will work on posting at least one anecdote or picture or something at least once a week! I'd like to say I'll do it daily, but we both (me and you, Barb) know that's not going to happen!

Tim's Blog

Tim has finally started a blog with daily comic reviews- We've been bugging him to do this for ages, rather than just e-mailing his reviews to his friends. Today he had a very special guest reviewer. Check it out.

The Masked Ice Cream Cowgirl

I was washing dishes this morning when I heard footsteps creeping up behind me... I turn around and see THIS:

Actually, the ice cream cone was stuck in the waist of her pants, and she says she was an Ice Cream Monster, not a cowgirl. She was very serious about it this.

Speaking of little footsteps, Lizzie is off to the races!

Almost caught up

We went to the pumpkin patch (there's Todd with his two little pumpkins), and the night before Halloween we carved them! I made a Barack O'Lantern :D

Vacation!

In mid-October we went to Door County with Todd, Kelli and Hannah and Tori, Tom and Gracie. We had a great time, saw some beautiful scenery, ate good food, and caught ping pong balls dropped from a helicopter! Yes, really.

Lizzie's First Birthday!

We had a great day with family and friends and a cake with a LOT of frosting. I think I am still coming down from the sugar buzz.
